Shuttle linking Gold Line to San Gabriel Mountains National Monument may end soon

The famous inclined railway that once inched up the face of Mount Lowe it is not.

Today's modern, electric Gold Line with a stop in Duarte, combined with shuttle service linking passengers to the south-central edge of the 342,177-acre San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, mimics the Great Hiking Era's Pacific Electric Railcar mountain ride in a less spectacular, but maybe more significant, way.
