How to check your restaurant wines for freshness

I grew up in a "waste not, want not" household. It meant "eat what you have, and you can always have more." Not a bad deal I'd say.

Thinking of that phrase, I thought of a story from a few years back.

There is wonderful eatery in Pasadena called "Pop," and they specialize in (drum roll, please) sparkling wines and champagnes.
