EL MONTE -- A fire damaged a carport and several vehicles at an El Monte apartment building today, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters sent to the 3700 block of Gibson Road at 2:07 a.m. extinguished the flames in 19 minutes, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
