LOS ANGELES -- Oingo Boingo, the Southern California new wave band that rocked the 1980s with hits like "Weird Science" and "Dead Man's Party," was honored by the Los Angeles City Council today.
Former members of the now defunct band appeared at City Hall -- including drummer Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez, bassist John Avila and sax player Sam "Sluggo" Phipps -- and played acoustic renditions of "Dead Man's Party" and "We Close Our Eyes.
