EL MONTE >> Police issued more than three-dozen tickets to distracted drivers in El Monte Thursday during an extra enforcement campaign to coincide with National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, authorities said.
Officers stopped 45 vehicles during the day-long, city-wide campaign, ultimately citing 36 driver, primarily for using cell phones while driving, El Monte police Sgt.
