3 hikes for Rose Parade visitors exploring Pasadena's Arroyo Seco, home of the Rose Bowl

For a few hours on New Years Day, the sporting world turns its attention to the Arroyo Seco, the creek and watershed that begins in the San Gabriel Mountains and flows through Pasadena into northeast Los Angeles.

While the focus will be on the Rose Bowl stadium and its fabled college football game (just count how many times the announcers refer it to as "the granddaddy of them all'), the cameras will also pull back periodically to take in glorious views of the mountains and the arroyo.
