Pasadena has hired Long Beach Public Works director Ara Maloyan to fill the vacancy left by the firing of the city's former public works director.
Maloyan, public works director in Long Beach since 2013, announced on Tuesday that he would begin working in Pasadena on Dec. 14.
"I will always be grateful to Ara for serving our city with dedication and professionalism," said Long Beach City Manager Patrick West in a statement.
