The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed on Tuesday to study ways to increase diversity in the arts in Los Angeles.
Supervisors Hilda Solis and Mark Ridley-Thomas asked the board to create an advisory group within the County Arts Commission to make recommendations on how to improve diversity in the kinds of exhibits, performances and displays in county arts institutions and to study how leadership positions within those institutions may be more inclusive of underrepresented communities.
