BIG BEAR LAKE >> An early November snowfall that dusted Southern California mountains with several inches of fresh powder had ski resort operators and others who rely on snow for a living Wednesday hoping it was a sign of a robust winter ahead.
"It's a great tell-tale sign. We're hoping that Mother Nature delivers," said Clayton Shoemaker, marketing director for Big Bear Mountain Resorts in Big Bear Lake, which includes the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit resorts.
