Transportation snafus force 1,500 Special Olympics athletes to sleep on LMU gym floor

Some 1,500 Special Olympics athletes and coaches arriving in Los Angeles this week were forced to sleep on a gymnasium floor because of a logistics foul-up that prevented them from getting to their host destinations, officials said Wednesday.
